Liturgical Ministries

Altar servers have been a long standing form of service in the liturgy.   Altar servers assist the priest in celebrating Mass and other Devotions.  Their duties emanate those traditionally performed by the deacon.  Boys and girls who are in 4th grade and up can become altar servers.  Training will be provided.  High school students and adults are encouraged to be part of this ministry.  For more information on becoming an altar server please contact the parish office, one of our deacon or Father Charles.

Eucharistic Ministers assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and to the sick and home-bound in their places of residence.

Sacristans  These ministers arrive early for Mass and help set up for the Eucharistic celebration.  They make sure that all the liturgical ministers are present, set up the altar, prepare the gifts of bread and wine and attend to any special needs for a given celebration.

Readers are a group of dedicated volunteers who proclaim the scripture readings at weekend and weekday Masses.  Training is provided so that volunteers are equipped to proclaim the word of God in an effective manner.  For more information about being a Reader, please contact the parish office.

Music Ministry  Singing and making beautiful music is like "praying twice".  Choir Practice is on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM.  We are always happy to add new members!  Contact our Director of Music Ministry, Mrs. Ann Hoyt at her email,  organistannie@gmail.com

Ushers  Our ushers assist at weekend Masses in numerous ways.  They provide a welcoming presence as parishioners come for mass.  They assist with the order during the liturgy by selecting gift bearers for the offertory, by escorting parishioners to their seats before and during mass.  They direct the collection of the offering and guide the procession of the parish during the reception of communion.   Ushers also assist parishioners by distributing the Parish Bulletin and by providing hospitality to parishioners and guests who attend St. Patrick and St. Rose of Lima Church on Sundays and Holy Days.  Anyone with an friendly personality and a desire to help is eligible to assist in this ministry.  Please contact  John Tully at    jjtully7@gmail.com   for more information.

Art and Environment  These volunteers help with the decorating of the churches for liturgical seasons.  If you would like to help with the ministry especially at Christmas and Easter,  please contact the parish office or speak with Diana Lare.

Altar Care  The Altar Care volunteers take care of the altar cloths and altar linens, keeping them properly cleaned and pressed.
